Five Chester County-Area Towns Among Philadelphia's Hottest Housing Markets

Five communities with Chester County ties rank among the Philadelphia metropolitan area's fastest-growing housing markets, with home values rising by as much as $75,000 over the past year, according to a new analysis from Stacker.

Using Zillow home-value data from August 2026, Stacker ranked 30 communities across the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington metropolitan area based on their one-year dollar appreciation. Their gains far outpaced the nation as a whole, where the typical home value rose just 1.3 percent to $369,678.

New Hope leads six Bucks County communities on a list of the Philadelphia area's fastest-growing home prices, as shown on Stacker.

Ranked at No. 6 among 30 communities in Stacker's analysis of Zillow data, New Hope has its typical home value climbing $67,943 in a year, or 7.5 percent, to $973,223. It has also gained $245,187, or 33.7 percent, over five years.Riegelsville posted the second-largest percentage increase among the county's entries.Ranked at No.18, its typical home value rose 6.5 percent, or $32,735, to $533,256. Read more from BucksCo.Today.

PA Median Sales Price and Sales Fell in September

Pennsylvania's median home price declined while housing inventory grew in September, according to the latest housing report prepared for the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors.

The state's median home sales price fell 4.5% in September to $315,000 compared to the previous month, and it was up 6% year over year. Listings rose 1.6% month over month, with 46,549 listings on the market in September. They dipped about 2% compared to the same time the previous year. Read more from the PA Association of Realtors.

Existing Home Sales Increased 1.5% in September, According to NAR Report

Existing-home sales increased by 1.5% month-over-month and decreased by 2.2% year-over-year, according to the National Association of REALTORS Existing-Home Sales report. The report provides the real estate ecosystem, including agents, homebuyers and sellers, with data on home sales, prices and inventory.

Pending Home Sales Decreased 7.3% in September

Pending home sales in September decreased by 7.3% month-over-month and 11.3% year-over-year, according to the National Association of REALTORS Pending Home Sales report. The report helps the real estate ecosystem, including agents, homebuyers and sellers, better understand the housing market by providing data on the level of home sales under contract.
